United MileagePlus Explorer Card Removes Foreign Transaction Fee

One of the more attractive airline credit cards just got better. Chase’s United MileagePlus Explorer Card just eliminated the 3% foreign transaction fee. Previously among United’s card offerings, only the pricey ($395 annual fee) United MileagePlus Club Card offered no transaction fee.  Here’s a link to the latest offer for the card–30,000 miles plus 5,000 more if you add another authorized user within 3 months.

Foreign transaction fees are generally charged on purchases made in a foreign currency or on purchases that involve a foreign bank (often even if the transaction is in dollars).
